... and I'd meant to have some of it tonight. Unfortunately I've been working on an extensive post for GeekBeat and haven't had a chance to do writing of my own this evening, so I'll have to get back to that tomorrow. Sorry everyone, my once a day every day policy has suffered a bit these last few weeks. I'll do what I can to make up for it!

Secret Projects
Last night I finally finished the first draft of my secret project, also known as my first Sword & Laser anthology story, also known as my not-really-so-secret project. Whew. Gotta get it to some beta readers, and make any necessary revisions before I send it off to Tom and Veronica. What a fun project! Sorry it has had such an impact on my ability to keep posting other stuff, but this is something I've simply had to do.
Outlining...
Outlining, outlining, and more outlining... more fiction ASAP.
Forgetting.
I swear, I am forgetting how to write short stories completely. I've done several parts of An Impossible Price so far, and the story hasn't advanced nearly as far as it needs to have by now. At this rate, it's going to be a novella, not a short story. Definitely not what I want.
I may soon have to alter the rules under which I work, such that if I'm writing short fiction, I'm required to outline it first so this sort of thing doesn't happen anymore. Or at least, you know, less often anyway. This is pretty much the same problem that has crippled all of my other works in progress.
Secret Projects
Today was a good day for working on secret projects. Free-writing is definitely my secret weapon for this stuff.
