It recently came to my attention (via Webmaster Tools, not any complaints) that I've got quite a few 404 situations cropping up. If you've been affected by this, my apologies! It's going to take a while to get it completely ironed out, but I'm working on it.
Instead of carrying on with The Price of Entanglement today, I decided I needed a change of pace and worked on an idea I've had for a while now. The result is An Improbable Reference, a story that changed an awful lot more in the writing than I'd expected.
I expected SOME changes, but it took off in a totally different direction. Originally I'd intended it to be more of a physical transformation or relocation of the character, rather than ... well, than what actually ended up happening. I won't spoil it for those who haven't read it.
It's a pretty short story, coming in at just over 1,100 words or so, so a tiny bit longer than Determination. I'm going to have to do more short fiction like this, it's good for clearing the mind out and staying out of ruts.
Ever since I switched to Squarespace version 6, I've been missing the sidebar I used to have. At least, mostly missing it. That sidebar got pretty busy for a while there, and that part, I definitely did not miss.
I've switched to a new V6 template that has a sidebar again, and I'm going to do my best not to let it get as full as the old one did. Please do let me know what you think of the new design; I know there are still some issues left with it, especially the menus. I'll be working to resolve them ASAP.
Bear with me for a little bit as I refresh the template on the site. I'm having some problems with the mobile navigation elements and menus, but hope to get them resolved soon.
I've heard from some readers that they'd be more inclined to read along as I write if they could read in longer chunks than the ones I post on a daily basis, so I've started doing chapter summaries. Here's the first one!
